Sunday 3rd February UKPagan Pub Moot: with talk on Spellcraft

Sent: 2008-01-27 07:11:45

Hi folks,

This month's UKPagan pub moot, organized by members of the UKPagan "The Valley" forum, will be held on Sunday 3rd February, from 8pm in upstairs function room of the Rummer Tavern on Duke Street, opposite Cardiff Castle.

The UKPagan moot provides an opportunity for people to meet Pagans outside of a university context, and make friends in the wider South Wales Pagan community. It's also a chance for drinking beer, and learning something new: this month Peter Nash will be giving a talk on the Art of Spellcraft.

Spellcraft is one of the main things that comes to mind when we imagine Witchcraft. Candles, incense, herbs, cauldrons, and crystals all rolled into one to create the perfect piece of results magic. But it's not always that easy, and sometimes the results don't happen as expected, or they don't occur at all. So in his talk, Peter will explore the mechanics of how spells work, some of the ethical considerations of casting spells, various methods of working magic, and he'll also give some handy advice on getting better results. Undoubtedly there will be some discussion and debate on the subject after the talk, so you can share your own views.

Peter Nash has been a practicing Alexandrian Wiccan for over 20 years, and has given talks in the past to UKPagan and CUPS on various subjects including the history of Wicca, the Cone of Power, and more. He is also a regular contributor to magazines such as Pagan Dawn and Witchcraft and Wicca.

So, come along and have a pint, a talk, and a debate!

Blessings,

Kim Huggens
