Tarot Coffee Club, 30th January: Introduction to Rune Divination (Wyrd webs, One-Eyed Gods, Blood and Earth Divining...)

Sent: 2008-01-16 14:10:03

Hi folks,

It was decided during the last Tarot Coffee Club that members would like to explore a few other methods of divination as well as Tarot. A such, on Wednesday 30th January from 7:30pm (at my house - if you don't know how to get there please meet us at 7:15pm outside Blackwell's of the Student's Union on Senghenydd Road) we'll be exploring the Runes: a Scandinavian and Icelandic method of divination that most commonly takes the form of 24 or 25 stones with certain symbols carved on them. The Runes have deep roots in Norse mythology and religion, and can also be used for high and low magic.

We'll be looking at how to use Runes in a simple divinatory reading, how to cast them, the many ways you can create your own set, and some of the lore and myth behind them. If you have a set yourself, please bring them along, since there will only be a couple of sets available to borrow. However, there will be some "makeshift" sets available for use on the evening - probably made of pebbles or penny coins!

As usual, please also bring some food and drink, and any friends who are interested.

Hope to see you there!

Blessings,

Kim Huggens
