Our yearly pilgrimage to Glastonbury fell on the Spring Equinox in 2006, and we spent a weekend sightseeing and shopping. We visited Glastonbury Tor, Glastonbury Abbey, the Chalice Well Gardens, and spent a lot of time in the Goddess Temple.
Even though the weather was freezing, we braved Stonehenge at 7am in January for private access. We also visited the Roman city of Bath and took in the history there - including the Roman Baths themselves. We also found a Shakeaways and had the best milkshakes known to man. After Stonehenge we made our way to Avebury where a warm pub awaited us.
For Beltane 2005, the Pagan Society made their annual pilgrimage to Glastonbury. Whilst there we did loads of Pagan shopping, visited the Chalice Well Gardens, climbed Glastonbury Tor a thigh-busting three times, went to the Abbey, and celebrated Beltane at the Goddess Temple before spending the evening dancing, singing, and drumming with other Pagans on the Tor.
In March 2005, we visited Cornwall and a few of its many beautiful sites. These included Boscastle Witchcraft Musuem - which had just reopened after the August 2004 floods, Boscastle Harbour, Trevethy Quoit - a neolithic burial chamber dating between 3500 and 2600 BCE, Hurlers Stone Circle, Tintagel, and St Nectan's Glen and Rocky Valley.
We also had a bonfire on Bude Beach one evening at low tide.
In January 2005, we had a trip to Stonehenge and Avebury - including private access to Stonehenge, a trek to West Kennet Long Barrow, a drive-by viewing of Silbury Hill (MoleRa), and an afternoon spent in Avebury.
We're not just all about Paganism. We also enjoy social gatherings and parties. Herein you shall find photo evidence of the goings-on at parties such as:
Ostara 2005 picnic in Bute park. Pirates, Priests, and Drag Queens fancy dress party. Kim and Simon's engagement party. Clubbing at the Welsh Club. Welcome-Back-From Egypt party for Dave. First social of 2004-2005 academic year. Yule 2004 party.
Photos from some of the events C.U.P.S. has done with other groups. Includes our trip to Glastonbury with the University if Bristol Earth Religions Society (UoBERS), October 2004.
At the end of April and beginning of May, we went to Boscastle in Cornwall.
Whilst there we visited the Witchcraft Museum, the Hurlers Stone Circles on Bodmin Moor, Tintagel, Trevethy Quoit, Rocky Valley, and St Nectan's Waterfall.
We also did lots of Pagan shopping, and celebrated Beltane on Bude beach.
CUPS went on a second trip to Glastonbury for the Spring Equinox 2004.
Whilst there we indulged in plenty of Pagan shopping, we visited the Chalice Well Gardens, Glastonbury Abbey, the White Spring café, Glastonbury Tor, and a museum.
We also attended the Spring Equinox celebration held in the Chalice Well Gardens.
